Different waxes for different applications soft waxes are flexible but gummy to try to carve while hard waxes are brittle but easier to carve.

For wax-polishing carved work benzine wax is preferred to turpentine wax because it does not clog the tine lines and notches so much. You can also use silicone wheels with diamond grit embedded in them. Dimensions I use lighter fluid on a rag to polish the wax being carefull not to take away the crispness of the carving.
Gently brush the entire waxed area with a soft toothbrush. Apply a coat of cleaner wax. Contour the wax to the desired shape.
